Antibiotics, antidepressants and painkilling opiods are most commonly prescribed. Twenty percent of patients are on five or more prescription medications, according to the findings, published online in the journal Mayo Clinic ProceedingsFact:<\/strong> Prescription Drug-related deaths surpassed 72,000 in 2017, according to provisional estimates recently released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. That represents an increase of more than 6,000 deaths, or 9.5 percent, over the estimate for the previous 12-month period.That staggering sum works out to about 200 drug overdose deaths every single day, or one every eight minutes.<\/strong>  Imagine a passenger jet crashing every day! I challenge you to name one other profession that causes this many people to die daily and nothing is done about it.I truly hope you and your family have been able to avoid becoming one of these statistics. The truth is we now live in a “disease care world instead of a health care world.<\/p>\n

Before I go on, let me tell you a little bit about my story. I’m 11 years old. I begin to notice that my mom disappears for a couple of weeks every month.  I really don\u2019t know where she goes until I’m home from school one day and I’m watching TV. Across the screen, they suddenly announce that President Kennedy has been shot. I run into the bedroom to tell mom and it’s pitch black in there. I feel around and find her in bed, under the covers, with a cold rag on her face, a throw-up pail on the floor next to her and a nightstand full of drugs within arms reach of her. My first thought is that my mom is dying. For an eleven-year-old boy, it is a very upsetting moment of my life. Subsequently, I learn that she suffers from week-long migraines and combined with massive drugs completely immobilize her for that whole time.  <\/p>\n

\u200bI remember going back out of the room and crying my eyes out. I had never seen my mom so sick and I felt helpless. I couldn’t stand the thought of her suffering like that. I also remember vowing to myself that one day I would be able to help others who are suffering but with a much different view of health.<\/p>\n

My search for the answer took me decades to find and I have to tell you that at one time, I had given up looking. I was so frustrated with the health model that most people adhere to today, I was resigned to giving up on my quest for a different way to health. I knew that medications were necessary for some things and it\u2019s great that they are available, I also realized that most people were just walking around, drugged up, half alive and only expressing a portion of their health potential.<\/p>\n

\u200bThen one day I happened to read this statement in a pamphlet: “Medicine studies disease and what causes people to die. Chiropractic studies health and what causes people to live.”What? Say that again? Finally, something that made sense! Think about it…If you want to be rich, you don’t study poverty! It goes to show you that if you want to be healthy, you don\u2019t need to study disease. You study health and what causes it!<\/p>\n

\u200bSo after looking deeper into this new and strange profession with a totally different outlook on health and life and finding the answers I had been searching for all those years, I dove in, spent another 4.5 years after my Bachelor\u2019s degree to get my Doctor of Chiropractic degree. Now I enjoy a healthy life myself (I\u2019m almost 70 and take no drugs) and I get to help thousands of people by following the steps outlined in my report that you now have in front of you.<\/p>\n
